Want to support newcomers in enhancing their language skills? Want to learn about different cultures, languages, and traditions? This volunteer position is perfect for you!
The Volunteer ESL Tutor Program designed by MCAF aims to create a supportive and empowering environment for newcomers by providing them with one-on-one language tutoring. As an ESL tutor, you will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of individuals who are striving to improve their English language skills. By dedicating just a few hours a week, you can help newcomers integrate into the new community, enhance their communication abilities, and unlock new opportunities for them.
Program Overview: The Volunteer ESL Tutor Program is a 3-6 month commitment where tutors are matched with newcomers based on their language proficiency levels. As a tutor, you will meet with your assigned newcomer once a week for 1-1.5 hours to engage in meaningful language learning activities. This consistent interaction will foster a supportive relationship and allow both the tutor and newcomer to track progress over time.
