Welcome Newcomers Parents to Join!
YMCA- community impact is providing a newcomer parent information session. This is part of this month's SWIS activities hold by MCAF.
Date: Feb.20 10am-12pm
Location: MCAF
The MCAF SWIS( SETTLEMENT WORKERS IN SCHOOLS ) and PLF( PROGRAM LIAISON FRANCOPHONE ) teams offer settlement services to newcomer students and their families in the Fredericton and surrounding area. In partnership with local schools, the Anglophone and Francophone School Districts, and community partners, SWIS/PLF workers support students to learn about and to integrate into their new school and community.

1 on 1 tutoring program with United for Literacy( Tutoring for Math, Science & English subject support)

Homework support/Tutoring programs( Additional tutoring & homework supports for various subjects including Math, Science, English)
- Date: determined based on each participant's schedule
- Age: All Grades

After School French Activity Program
Newcomer students at École des Bâtisseurs are invited to participate in activities including discovery games, outdoor activities, movies and songs, and practice their reading, writing & speaking in French
- Date: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 3:30pm - 5pm
- Age: 5-10 years

Settlement Workers in Schools (SWIS)
We offer settlement services to newcomer students an d their families in the Fredericton and surrounding area who choose English schools or French immersion schools.
Program Liaison Francophone(PLF)
The PLF program offers settlement services to newcomer francophone and allophone families who choose to integrate into the francophone community and school system.
